Welcome to the Biomed Sheffield website. Biomed Sheffield is the
organisation created to fulfil the objectives of the Sheffield
City Region LEP strategy for our city region healthcare sector;
as outlined in the Breeze Report commissioned by the LEP in
2011.
The healthcare sector is defined as any organisation that has a
vested interest in seeing the sector thrive and grow,
encouraging out of region businesses to relocate their
healthcare interests in the Sheffield City Region. They include:
- Our Medical Device Manufacturers
- Our NHS Trusts
- Our Two Universities
- Our Local authorities
- Our local SME businesses and supply chain
The organisation is in its infancy and this website is published
simply to give the background and context for Biomed Sheffield.
Biomed Sheffield is being headed and chaired by Neil Garner. Neil is the former Managing Director of Symmetry Medical. He has a wealth of experience of the healthcare sector and is widely respected by all the stakeholders in Biomed Sheffield. His mission is to ensure that the voice of the Sheffield City Region healthcare sector is heard by National Government, through our LEP.
